It's been incredibly dry in the west chilcotin area and even well into the coast mountains near to the ocean. Those two stations in red (Middle Lake and Tatla Lake) have had very low dew points, and it's been even lower at Plummer Hut relatively near the ocn, although, that's in part because it's the highest elevation weather station in Canada.

I read an article tonight stating that as of now, a major flood has been averted and the risk is a lot lower than originally feared.

I was out in Abbotsford yesterday and it felt comfortable.

Something I have noticed this summer is how bad the driving has gotten in the region. Seen so many dump trucks, 18 wheelers and novice drivers swerving and cutting other motorists off.

The Fraser is a big azz river, so even though the Chilcotin surged to 3000 cubic meters per second (5 times the previous all-time record), the Fraser is quite low right now, so pushed the Fraser to above this year's peak above Lytton, but not below. This year's peak was lower than average though.

So in other words Glace luckily this didn't happen at the peak of the spring freshet or it could have been a major event.

As I suspected -- pretty much a non-event for the Fraser, compared to average peak flow levels.

Now the Euro is showing dew points around 23C in the Fraser Valley for Thursday night. Remains to be seen if it verifies. But if it does then...
