El Nito is here with the forks!
Some models are painting a wet picture for this weekend. We shall see how it pans out. The PNE is here and the rain hath arrived.

Agreed. That's why I love climates with four seasons. Dynamic weather is the best!PortKells wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 4:38 pm I've always loved variable conditions. I wouldn't like 4 months of summer rain and I equally hate 30C every day with everything dying. Variable conditions are the best for gardening, for all plant/animal life and also gives everyone some weather they prefer.

This will be so refreshing. The heaviest rain falls late Friday night and tapers off Saturday morning.

Go figure the most impressive thunderstorms of the summer formed out of nothing and hit the Lower Mainland in the middle of the night.

Re: August 2024 Forecasts And Discussions
Just noticed that EC updated their website and has a pretty big list of BC cities on their forecast page now. 1549 to be exact.
Guessing they are not really that detailed per location but rather taken from the nearest main city/town forecast. Or as
likes to constantly say... AI
Anyways.. carry on.

Re: August 2024 Forecasts And Discussions
Amazingly comprehensive. Has both Boston Bar and North Bend listed. Neither is very large, and they basically sit on opposite banks of the Fraser from each other. It should be useful when I visit the Fraser Canyon. Have had to rely on the forecast for Lytton, which is often significantly warmer and drier than Boston Bar.Catnip wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 11:38 am Just noticed that EC updated their website and has a pretty big list of BC cities on their forecast page now. 1549 to be exact.

For what it's worth (which is not much), HRRR is calling for a thunder chance again. Clearly someone needs to fix it to account for the Lower Mainland anti-thunderstorm zone.

Re: August 2024 Forecasts And Discussions
Some models are showing we will get 50mm of rain by Saturday. I will be glad to take something like that and then finish off the month of August with beautiful sunny weather.
