Here's the latest NAM 3km. HRRR does not look far enough in the future to catch the period when the flurries are modelled, and HRDPS shows no moisture tomorrow.

Flakes or drizzle will fall...but it will be very short-lived and not accumulate.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 6:27 pm Here's the latest NAM 3km. HRRR does not look far enough in the future to catch the period when the flurries are modelled, and HRDPS shows no moisture tomorrow.

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
If we can't get a cold January, can we at least get a snowy March? That 1951 event was absolutely insane. Would love to see a repeat.
Abbotsford airport recorded 102.6cm of snow in 5 days with 63.5cm falling within 48hrs. Daily high on March 5th reached -6.1 with a low of -10C. That is top tier cold and snow. Sorry 2002, 1951 was a much more extreme anomaly. It's hard to imagine that just a few years later, in January 1954, another top tier snowy arctic blast hit the region with Abbotsford receiving 118.7cm of snow in 7 days! The highest daily snowfall on record in Abbotsford (49.8cm) was recorded during that event. The 50's and 60's were sure a treat and I wasn't alive to experience it.

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
After tonight we'll be trailing Houston and New Orleans in measurable snow this winter
But we're not trailing Seattle or Portland and that's all that counts lol

Oh it was for sure a solid event. It just doesn't compare to the 1951 anomaly.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 9:23 pm That March 2002 was interesting it was the coldest Arctic blast for March in my lifetime.l was living in Maple Ridge at the time.
