Yeah I keep getting the same guy explaining things to me like a child. Im just gonna keep posting maps for fun. I’ve been tracking this thing since it was -1000 hours old, I’ve earned the right.
Nobody is asking you to stop posting maps. Just suggesting you post better maps that better reflect the situation as opposed to cherry picking maps that have the highest "totals"
But feel free to ignore the advice of some of us with a bit more expertise and do whatever you want, but I will do what I want too.
Although it sounds like you are an expert yourself if you knew there would be a snow risk Feb 2/3 all the way back before Christmas, wow, you are good! Gold star!!

Really raining hard out there.
T +3.3 - DP+3
Currently 4 individual car crashes eastbound on the Port Mann. Idiots.
I had to drive a mere 10 minutes into Maple Ridge to renew my license and it was sheer insanity on the roads. It rains here all the freaking time but we get a few weeks without rain and it's like people somehow FORGET how to drive. Multiple drivers didn't have their freaking headlights on.

Their policy is to issue snowfall warnings only within 48 hours - lots of social science supports that issuing a warning too early leads to public apathy around the time of the event
The weather statement is being used as a heads up - it says EC doesnt know amounts (hell- even we don't...), but there will be snow. Lots of people are talking about possible snow this weekend on the news, social media, friends and family, and that's what matters. This isn't a hurricane when you need 3+ days to prepare. Nobody needs to board up their windows for this weekend.
Just chill
Expect the warning tonight, which is 48 hours before the event onset.
I have to second this, this will very much be a nowcast, as we still can't narrow down where the convergence and resulting precipitation enhancement will be. It seems the South Coast has to be babied with snowfall warnings for random flurry activity once a year rather than the general "weather advisory" EC doles out in Ontario where they just say that there could be snow and let the public figure it out.

I knew even before him.
Just check out my sig!

I agree, for the Sunshine Coast, it's chance of flurries, with periods of snow Sunday pm, no big deal right??? When you read the text it's calling for 2 cm tonight but no other accumulations. Going to be some surprised people out there Sunday night and Monday...unless it's me and all we get are a few flakes.
EC only posts amounts within 48 hours in their text forecast, but you can see the amounts in their data forecast (it's viewable on SpotWx for example)
For the sunshine coast it's saying 2 cm Sunday night for Gibsons which is what the ECMWF is saying as well..

Who cares what maps people post? This is a weather community for us to share and have fun with our hobby. It's not for public safety info.
Well hopefully the return we get for Miller is worth it. I don't get why two players who make tons of money couldn't put the personalities behind them and work together.

This is a forum for fun.
Of course - I wasn't the one complaining. We were giving advice, and PortKelis and Weather101 just keep moaning and taking it personally. Seems like people just complain constantly on here

I think he works for EC, constantly posting the same message for 48 hours and getting mad at people for posting weather maps on a weather forum. Weird concept, eh?
