Ironically your area is now primed to be one of the few that might score well!
It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
5 cm is still quite doable even if the snowfall warning busts like I think it might.
The NAM 3km and HRDPS were both showing a dusting to 10 cm for the metro area. The GFS just came into agreement with them. If the Euro does as well, we will have model consensus — just not the consensus snow lovers were hoping for.

You are in the rain shadow today. SW flow. It was never going to be your day. Everything is showing outflow snow later Sunday, possibly Monday into Tuesday too.

And that is a normal state of affairs, when it comes to precip. It's the fact that we seem to have one of the warmer temps and after the failure of the maritime arctic front, last night, to cool us a quickly and as low as modeled, I am pretty skeptical about tomorrow.

I kept saying temps could reach +6C or +7C this weekend.Michael1 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 2:47 pm And that is a normal state of affairs, when it comes to precip. Eh. We are due for a rug pull and this is still a pretty good start to an arctic outbreak.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2025 2:37 pm I thought it was strange that the mesoscale models (particularly NAM) were so much drier than the Euro and GFS. If the 18Z Euro comes in dry, the caving to the mesoscale models (and the rug pull) will be complete.

Scoreboard update:
Climo 62 (81 days in meteorological winter without any of: snow or high<0 or low<-10)
GFS 0 (cm of snow IMBY + days with high<0 or low<-10)
A doughnut on the scoreboard and a doughnut on the model maps. Hopefully by tomorrow there are no doughnuts.
Will
GFS score double digits by Monday AM? Will it score via temperature this week? Stay tuned!

And the Sardinies take the lead in the 7th annual knock your socks off snowfall contest with 2.5cm @ the pond in south Sardis, what a great effort by Slyts hardly visible but gets the job done.
