So It's sweeping down the island Kool usually we see it pushing out from Howe sound and the valley but that low along the coast has something to do with it.

Front on the map seems a bit off. Actual location to the NW is a bit further north up the island near Campbell River, and it's yet to push through some of the inlets further north on the mainland, east of the Island near Johnstone Strait (ex. north of Sayward, Alert Bay).

I kept waking up, lookingoutside and seeing very light snow so I kept going back to bed, now I'm up I can see about 1cm on the fence. Nothing too notable.

No eastward progress with precip until the low up the coast sinks further south right now precip is pivoting NWesterly..

Yes!!! Lots of snow so far, everything is white and just taking a little break to reload! Will go out and measure after catching up on 10 + pages.

Is that low actually tracking across the central island? It was supposed to slide down the west side. No wonder we're getting screwed

Okay this is looking insane outside right now. I would be shocked if we don't get at least 40-50 cm. Would any weather experts venture to jump in and explain... is this sea effect snow from Howe Sound?

I was just thinking the same, we are getting hammered here. Snow won't let up just keeps coming, will be white out conditions when the outflow kicks in. And yes I'm thinking over a foot by later tonight
