Cold night on tap under the clear skies tonight!

Maybe a few sub -10c readings in wind sheltered locations.

A SSW event is not a given from this far out but if it does verify then it will be more favorable for cold East of the Rocky's. We likely get a head start on Spring as inversion season ends.
If the SSW verifies, I wouldn't be surprised to see a transitory arctic fart sometime in March before the cold slides east.

On that note anyone watching the models that system to the south is trending north

Noticed that on the 18Z RGEM. I still doubt it makes it far enough north to give us a snowstorm, but we can always dream. :flakey:

We should be more precise. The GFS 12z op was dry. The ensemble was another matter. Still drier than normal, but not nearly as extreme as the op. The 18z op & ensemble are similar to the 12z. Had the op showed cold & snowy and the ensemble didn’t, we would have heard about “no ensemble support” with icons of pineapples and dancing bananas.

Those winds will definitely cap how low temps will drop in the valley.

The reload of modified arctic air is here now... dewpoints really began dropping here around 9am... looks like it hit the valley earlier in the morning and kept high temps just below freezing out there.

High of 3c in east Coquitlam. Currently -0.5c, dp -11c.

Hoping the models send that low north into Washington it's happened before even plowed up to Hadia Gwaii. Although not likely. The southeners are sweating bullets there 2 inches is looking shaky.
