November 2021 and 2022 were both quite dynamic, in terms of precipitation and temperature.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 12:43 pm At least we are seeing sunshine?
It really feels like we have lost November as a dynamic weather month. We either see warm advection rains that don't amount to much or penetrate the coastal ranges, "dry" split flow or the odd Atmospheric river. No more significant storms or temperature swings. I would say even early December has become boring as well.
Also looks like we will be in a moderately strong +ENSO state in 2026.

Re: November 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Nov 2022 was dynamic as we had snow in the first week of the month and the temp crash and snowstorm at the end of the month. Dynamic doesn't just translate to lots of rain. Temps, winds, precip type comes into play as well.Canada Goose wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 6:09 pm 2021, yes, of course. Not 2022. Here are the last 4 Novembers in Coquitlam...![]()

Re: November 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Both November 2021 and 2022 were fairly dynamic with 2021 being the obvious winner given the excessive rainfall. However, the one thing that has been missing as of recent has been a region wide windstorm with gusts in the 100-110km/h range. Those used to be far more frequent. The last major storm was December 20th, 2018. That's almost 7 years ago. As I've said before, 2006/07 and 2007/08 were the most dynamic winters I've experienced since moving here in the summer of 2004. Both featured several major region wide wind and snowstorms. The November 2006 storm cycle began with a major Atmospheric River and then was followed by back to back windstorms with a sudden shift to cold and an all out blizzard at the end of the month. Then we have 2007, which had multiple big windstorms in November and then a major snowstorm in early December, which was followed by a sudden shift to damaging winds and a major warmup. Felt like a Chinook. Heavy snow to strong winds, gusting to 111km/h and then a sudden temperature rise to 15.4C at YXX. As dynamic as it gets here. It sure would be nice to have a repeat of one of those analogs.

Last November 4 was the tornado in Sechelt, I'm quite happy to pass on any more windstorms.AbbyJr wrote: ↑Wed Nov 19, 2025 8:21 pm Both November 2021 and 2022 were fairly dynamic with 2021 being the obvious winner given the excessive rainfall. I have been listening to this guys videos from time to time. He is a meteorologist. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj1jc5mxmi8
He talks about how December is similar to 1983 and Joe Bastardi was also pointing it out.

Re: November 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
December was decent for cold, 2 events stood out that year the B.C Lions lost 18-17 to the Toronto Arenogoods in the first ever Grey Cup @ B.C. Place stadium. Then in December very cold Arctic air settled over the lower mainland just in time for Christmas around Dec.17th then l remember a snowfall warning was issued for Vancouver on Christmas Eve.stuffradio wrote: ↑Thu Nov 20, 2025 9:31 am Chilliwack City had some snow in December 1983 https://climate.weather.gc.ca/climate_d ... &Year=1983
