Ya, hopefully the COF pattern materializes! Snow would start to pile up at elevation.

Haha and just like that the 00z Euro doesn’t have the ridge merger in that critical day 7-8 time frame and the westerlies breakthrough. Might be an outlier though.

Michael Snyder said that the Euro AI has been the best performing model as of recent. So we'll see if it leads the way here. :silent:

Always potential for snow in Dec in the LR. GFS always has some snow maps in every run. The maps are always nice to look at for sure
Meantime, it looks like a major Nito festival over the next week+
Abby with rain and H8-9c and L 4-5c. Yay
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

Looks like the models want to carry the energy into the Pacific which means potential for a mild SW flow! Could also lead to storm development.

I wouldn’t call this mild, but you are right, there is a chance it digs too far west.

I trust the Euro which shows a torch leading to a :dancepine: pattern.

Fair, but here is the 12z AI Euro for the same time frame.

Long story short, lots to unpack still.

More importantly, 12z EPS was a decent run.

There's that north/interior cold pool sign again. W/NW flow for us down here which translates to lowland rain and lots of mountain snow.
