Double Edit: Not a bad run. Just not as epic as previous. There's some snow in there.

Too bad that ridge gets blown up because this could have been epic. As it is, very very palatable. But as usual, until it's supported by other models, it may just be noise.

06z gfs update

gets chilly mid run..mixed bag with some snowy days too..followed by the dreaded "heat mizer" warm up end of the run :damn:

Figured it would cave. Euro and GFS showing the same evolution of a cut off in the pacific tossing up a weak ridge over us and then a return to mild rain by the end of the month. Maybe some lowland snow with a backdoor arctic airmass in 10 days though.

It's partial BS. Obviously it's not a "cave" when it shows arctic air reaching the coast. That would be a win for the GFS if it happens. However, he is right in that the block disintegrates and things get messy real fast.
