Carrots but that is a snowy offshore setup that turns into a prolonged arctic blast with a reload setting up.

I don't think the models are or were really struggling. They called this -PNA pattern 10 days ago with ridging setting up too far west and energy dumping out into the ocean. We kept hoping they would blink, but I think when you see that much cyclogenesis taking place over relatively cool water, the pattern kinda gets into this infinite feedback loop where each impulse out of Alaska reinforces it and we end up with what has happened here lately.

Now, it finally looks like the block reorganizes in a favourable spot for us. Maybe Typer will be right about January. I hope so anyway.

The models have been hinting at this anafront lifting north all week.

The 18z Euro will give some people snow on Christmas Eve. :alert:
