Kinda bummed out we couldn’t squeeze out a white Christmas, but we were up against some pretty strong odds. Oh well.

I don't know about you guys but this christmas thing just screams disappointment. I'm going to hold off until we get a true cold airmass. I do hope it works out of course but we've seen this movie before.

I agree. We have had a good run of white Christmas in the 2020s. I agree about it not being as nice when it’s green but we might be heading into an arctic blast the week after Christmas.

Yukon having one of its coldest December's on record is also something to watch... with a more favourable 500mb pattern, all that will surge south into our region.

Potential is definitely there. Even if that air sinks down into the interior, it wouldn’t take much to bring it out to the coast. A coastal slider perhaps. :silent:

It probably won’t work out, but I’m still hoping and will watch it until defeat is near. Such is the reality of model riding.

At best...a brief mixed rain and snow event that delivers a sloppy coating up at SFU while portions of Eastern Van Island see 5cm.

At worst....+6C light rain.

I was driving in the Spence's Bridge to Ashcroft stretch and if it wasn't for the snow on the higher mountains it would be difficult to tell it was winter and not summer besides the temperature. The sun was out, the ground was brown as normal.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!
