Got a fat positively charged, high current (24 kA) clound to ground strike about 20 minutes ago, hit Gaglardi Way at Lougheed. How did this squall line form, anyway?
Welcome to the forum!
I did have a single lightning strike and tiny thunder rumble in Langley, but it's pretty much died down now.

The land surface is too cold to sustain these cells... you can see it dying off rapidly on the radar. I'm just getting some light rain from the remnants.

This was the source of the squall if you watch the radar back 5 hours.

That was the heaviest sustained rain I’ve seen in a long time. About 20 minute worth. I don’t mind the rain and dark gloomy clouds. I would probably do well in Prince Rupert.

Just got rainy and blustery here but it doesn’t sound quite as exciting as what you’re experiencing to my north.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Haha, the 12Z Euro does show some snow on Super Bowl Sunday.

Good news....more rain is falling. I was worried that the most recent drought would last 4 hours.

A slush fest in 9 days is hard to get excited about on the heels of that powder dump. But anything is more exciting than watching the super bowl in my books.

Ok so layer of grass has just lifted off my lawn. Somebody stop this fucking rain already.
A dry and chilly Feb would be a godsend.
