We are clearing temperature records by 10C+ degrees here. There's no relief until Wednesday morning and I'm skeptical since there's tons of warm air aloft. I think the marine push will just drive up the RH%.

This has been a subject of discussion on the American forum this morning, and the models are actually showing that the marine push should lower dew points.
It's called clown range for a reason.

12z GFS. July 5-13 is going to seem downright chilly compared to what we are going through now if this verifies at all.

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this already, but EC is predicting a 50c humidex for eastern Metro Vancouver tomorrow.

NWS seattle is on board with the marine push and much cooler temps near the Coast Tuesday and especially Wednesday.
I just read the NWS discussion done by NWS meteorologist Carly Kovacik. She has the best reads, so detailed and informative, just a treat.

I'm becoming increasingly concerned that the models are overdoing the cool off on Wednesday, especially for inland regions. With so much heat trapped in the valleys, the ridge still in place (though weaker) and a weak marine push, there's a good chance we don't get below 30C in many areas, and as wetcoast mentioned, the marine push may in fact work to increase the humidity. So we may not see a significant relief this week even as the extreme heat peaks Monday.

Well EC has the heat warning for all areas until Monday night. I'd imagine they'll extend that for areas inland through Tuesday at least. The areas by the coast should cool enough but it will still be above normal by a few degrees even with the cooldown.

Yvr at 28.1c with a moderate WNW wind at 12pm. That equals yesterday's temperature at 12pm and the high topped out at 31c I don't think the all time record is going to be broken today. Maybe tomorrow for YVR.

Or we can all go sleep in Rubus_Leucodermis's tent since his overnight low was better as well.

Yeah, so far today is only shaping up to be marginally hotter than yesterday. Tomorrow is still supposed to be a few degrees hotter yet, though. It appears there will be enhanced offshore flow later today through tomorrow afternoon.
