It's amazing how far inland this AR reached. It's just so rare to see that kind of flooding in the normally very dry climate of Merrit and Princeton (unless it's the freshet in the Spring).. I guess the fetch of that AR and the relentless conveyor belt of moisture funneled deep into the mountains and filled in the rain shadow. Something similar happened in the 2010 atmospheric river that caused severe flooding in Bella Coola. The rainfall totals were also similar to this one. There was severe flooding in the West Chilcotin region during that AR, a region normally in a rain shadow.

Yes it is flooded down there it's receded abit.

Given that the city of Sumas itself is mostly flooded, that seems a safe bet.
