This is not good news. Let's all hope it does not verify.

Just some sprinkles in central Lonsdale.
It's called clown range for a reason.

-6C here at noon with cloudy skies. Mountains to the west disappearing so the snow isn't far.

Had a -10.5C low yesterday, first of the winter below -10

I think that conventional wisdom makes us look at analogous situations, however, because of the increasingly volatile climate, we could get -10 at sea level one week and plus 15 the next, along the coast.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
I think an active fall is a key ingredient but by no mEans the only one. So far the arctic is staying reasonably cold which is actually a really good thing but it stops us from getting anything note worthy early on.Weather101 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 10:18 am This is why I haven’t jumped on any bandwagon. You never know with our winters.
Having said that, the gfs ensemble was somewhat interesting after hour 300. Maybe a chilly period with heavy mountain snow.

My guess was an electrical fault in one of the RV’s (they all do have storage batteries), triggered by the flooding.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
I’ve been feeling a pretty zonal may be the cards overall. But I do think we tap into some arctic air at least a couple times. Mid to late December and mid to late January. My winter forecasts have been awful lately so take it with a grain of salt.

Yup. It would bad news for the flooding situation if that run were to verify.
