I think I remember some mud/rock slides on the sea to sky Hwy due to heavy rain in the 80's and 90's, and Squamish always got hit hard.

Yes, this was quite common. Doesn’t seem as bad since they upgraded the highway.

Ridiculous reports over the years mentioned the dykeing on the Sumas needed upgrading and nothing was done.

It was called BCTV before Global came along. I don't think Latremouille was there for very long, wasn't Norm Grohman, also known as Andre LaPuck, the main weather guy for many years? Although I'm not sure if he was actually a meteorologist.

Yes correct Gumps Norm Grohman seemed more of a comedian, who came after Norm? Wayne Cox.

That's ok,he's got a bottle of Vitog inside a sealed glass case, he will break glass in case of emergency.
He might also be running out of his favourite Kelloggs cereal , 2 skooks of raisins in every package of Kelloggs raisin bran . Keeps him regular.

I think Mark Madryga has been there for quite a while now.

Oh yes, John McKeachie was funny, always spoke too fast and fumbled his words. And he was always good for the proverbial use of the word proverbial.

Highway improvements were huge.

But it also helps that it's been a while since they've gotten a big one. November 1990 and 1995 were particularly bad for the sea to sky corridor. October 2003 sticks out as well.
