No signs of a big warm up next week and good snow chances on thursday and then again on New years so I'd be quite happy if this run verified
But usually with that wouldn't we end with last weeks scenario no one was happy.

I’m doubting the accuracy of my cheapo LaCrosse thermometer. It says -7.6˚C which is basically the same as YVR. One would think I should be cooler, given how I’m further inland.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Maybe the extreme winter weather we get is copious amounts of cold and snow. For weeks. December started out cool and wet. Now cold and snowy. Maybe this is the theme for most of January too?

Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

Go on wunderground and find a few stations near you. Proximity to the water is often irrelevant when there is an arctic outflow. It’s -7C in the Gulf islands and they’re surrounded by water. I’m inland and 500ft up the hill and it’s only -6. They get a direct outflow wind and I do not

On the other hand it’s basically in line with what other stations are reporting in East Van, so it’s probably accurate.

I had a LaCrosse and an Accurite and the LaCrosse read about a degree and a half higher than the Accurite Rubes, do the melting snow test that's what l do, place both sensirs either together or separate in a zip lock bag then place fully submerged in snow.
you have perfect snow right now for this once the snow starts melting if accurate should read 0.0c or 32.0f

I remember back when l was growing up before Radio Shack came out with digital thermometers, they were like over 80 bucks. :o but any how whenever l bought a new mercury thermometer l would do the melting snow test so l would have to push the mercury tube to adjust it they were never accurate, broke lots by pushing on it to hard.
