I hope, but I'll believe it when I see it. I'd be happy with 15 cm.

Models have nailed this event. There have been no surprises.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 5:53 pm Last night ECMWF and HRRR were both predicting that coastal Whatcom County would have a relatively prompt and early transition to above-freezing conditions. Looks like those models nailed it.
Both models also showed most of the Lower Mainland holding out as snow until some time between midnight and 10:00 AM.
At this stage, it is quite clear that the snowier Goofus scenario is not going to materialize.
I wouldn't say the GFS was wrong, it just has coarser resolution so it smooths out high amounts to more areas. You just have to know how to read models to know to rely on high resolution models within 24 hours

Re: November 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
I might. I’m certainly not getting 20 or 30 cm, though. I think we’re good until at least midnight, based on what the models were saying. I am expecting it to be cold rain by dawn.Canada Goose wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 6:46 pm Still thinking we're gonna have 15 cm?![]()
What time is the snow supposed to stop?
It's called clown range for a reason.

And how to check the “snow†maps against temperatures and dew points to weed out all the phantom snow.Nordelian wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 7:20 pm Models have nailed this event. There have been no surprises.
