Temp is down to 6.2c after a high of 8.3c around 9am.

Edit. Still dropping. +5.8c now
Higher precip rates brought down warm air from aloft.

So sad to see the snow being utterly destroyed. People who wish for such a rainfall rather than a slow melt have brain issues. A lot on twitter who were wishing for rain are now the same clowns complaining about it.
I'm on the fence...

If we had a society that was considerate then it would make for a picturesque scene and I wouldn't mind if the snow stayed all winter long.

However the thought of packed down icy uneven snow on side roads and sidewalks makes me happy to see this rapidly melt. We have far too many selfish people that rarely shovel sidewalks these days. Snowplows will actually push snow onto pathways and sidewalks. It really sucks for persons who rely on mobility aids and poses a danger to the elderly.

We basically had “fake” cold heading into the recently departed cold snap, which was an unusual precursor. I guess :dancepine: now is the price we pay for that.

Anyhow, with the lack of attention the side streets get, I am looking forward to probably being able to bike on them by Tuesday.
It's called clown range for a reason.

I think this part of things is just part of the package when it comes to getting a strong low like that cutting into an arctic airmass. The previous cold snap had some fake cold which was nice but it wasn't a true arctic airmass or top tier snowstorm like this one.

Rain drops the size of toonies. Pulled the ice out of gutters and shoveled out the CB out front. Crazy melt happening. 7 degrees here. Glad to have a break from pushing snow.

This one was pretty good, but Dec 2008 is still by far my favourite. The duration, timing and snow does it for me. I don't personally really care about record cold.

For January can we get a snow AR? I’ll take warm and bossoms until then.

Getting warm and toasty. Getting excited for crocuses in a few weeks and cherry blossoms early.

I am skiing at Purden near Prince George today. Strange conditions, slightly above freezing at the base area which is about 700 ft up from the valley where it is -7c. The top of the mountain at 1600m elevation is below freezing.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!
