Yaleman highlights

Minus 7 in Yale. Trees are lashing about. Power out. No cooked food in house. I guess I'll cook hot dogs in wood stove . Barbaric.

Six inches of concrete in Yale. Trees and telephone line down. EC said flurries.

Grim weather situation. -5 C in Yale bc. It will likely be minus 15 C tonight. Howling winds and flurries . Must be 12 inches of snow on ground in places.

-17 c in Yale with wind . Want to enjoy sunny weather but too cold to go outside. At least no snow.

-13 and sunny in Yale. Glaciers developing in hwy 1 tunnels. Some people seem to speed up in these conditions. Best to stay at home.

-11 in hope bc and ec is predicting a high of +1 today.
The true cruelty of this situation is that this was supposed to be a warm winter. This just proves you can pack an entire winter of misery into one unending week.
Oh wow yes your right l thought there was a Mountain man.but yes Mtseymourguy was a character.

WRF says outflow kicks in Sunday morning but it’s usually too quick to bring in the arctic air

wetcoast91 wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2025 8:23 pm I think models were orginally depicting organized convective bands before. We are looking at an arctic meso-low (cold surface low) or upper level convergence fueling a narrow snow zone. Burnaby is in a very good spot. Further Eastern areas are not as outflow kicks up Sun afternoon.
January 26/27, 2002 vibes for YVR.

Most of the Euro snow seems to fall between 01:00 Sunday and 01:00 Monday local time.

It would make for an epic week with this much snow at the start of a cold snap.

That GEM run gives me 3+ snow days. Actually that might get the military in here like Nito predicted before he turned all sour again.
