Truthfully, I don't have time to ride the models like I used to. I take a glance once or twice a day and time permitting post a map or two.
Me too. Those operational runs are silly.
Speaking of 18z apocalyptic run.

That is quite the rain storm being shown on the 18Z GFS. Yikes.

Battleground setup in the central interior and north coast on those frames with the advance of the arctic air held up. Heavy snows for those regions with mild rain over the south coast.

Sumas Lake will return with those rainfall totals.
l saw a report on Global news that the Barrow town pump upgrade was completed so perhaps the Sumas prairie could survive this time around should this scenario verify Tman.

Unfortunately, I don't think that would prevent another flood but it will help to ensure the Barrowtown pump station remains fully functional in the event of another flood. Back in November 2021, they almost had to shut it down completely, which would have significantly worsened the flood.
Here is the summary of the upgrades:
Upgrades to the Barrowtown Pump Station will increase its capacity and resilience to flooding. The improvements include:
adding a six-metre floodwall to reduce the possibility of the station shutting down if the Sumas Prairie is flooded;
upgrading the debris screen, or trash rack, to reduce fish access to the pumps and prevent large debris from entering the system intake;
replacing pump motors to improve station efficiency and operating flexibility, as well as increasing its overall pumping capacity; and
transitioning to a dual substation with the addition of a second BC Hydro power feed, to make the pump station’s power supply more robust.

The 00Z GFS has backed off on next weekends AR but still shows significant rainfall. Looks like a 24hr event now versus the 48hr deluge shown on the 18Z run. Also, it shows much higher totals over Victoria than Abbotsford, which is quite unusual. Either way, looks very wet next week.
