Catnip quietly slips back into the mix...lured in by the troffiness in the models. At least this time it is only about 10 days out from a potentially (very) snowy situation

Yeah a Vancouver centric snowy situation. No real concerns of getting overly suppressed as of now. Hopefully we get a massive snowstorm, shut out the yanks and win the Olympic gold medal on the same day.

fwiw, the 12z King gfs gives us copious amounts of cold rain over the next 14. Not much for snow..lets hope the gfs is wrong this time. The flip side is that the local mountains should get stacked with snow..only 2-3 months too late!

Euro seems more detailed and the temps support snow. I wonder if their 850 temps are more accurate despite the aifs having superior 500 mb accuracy.

I would love more of an over the water trajectory over the trough axis digging too far south or further inland. Yeah, we would see cold rain but the Mountain snowpack would quickly build up.

Yeah, the Euro snow map is almost certainly way overdone. But I wouldn't be surprised to see some low elevation snow with the modelled pattern.

Even the El Notso pineapple map is coming around to accept the fact we might see some low elevation flakes.
